PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Cinda Neighborhood Residential Street Improvement Project will restore surface integrity and improve pavement driving surface.  Work will include removal and reconstruction of concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter, driveway approaches and ADA access ramps (completed, June 2016).  This project will improve pedestrian mobility and beautify the neighborhood. This neighborhood is bordered by South Street to the north, Anaheim Coves to the east, Burntwood Avenue to the south, and Rio Vista to the west.

As part of this project, 153,781 square feet of asphalt and 314 square feet of sidewalk will be replaced. Additionally, new pavement markings will be painted and new street signs will be installed. The total project cost is $256,034; $217,398 from Gas Tax and $38,636 from SB 1 funding

Rebuilding California - SB 1

The Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017- SB1

For cities, SB 1 will double the amount of revenues they each receive from the state for their local street maintenance and rehabilitation needs. Annually, $500 to $650 million will go to cities statewide, allocated
on a per capita basis. A vast majority of the new revenues for cities will come out of the newly created Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account (RMRA) where cities will have to prioritize fixing their existing infrastructure first before having some additional flexibility for those funds for other transportation needs.
