International Walk to School Day is a global event that involves communities from more than 40 countries walking and biking to school on the same day. This event began in 1997 as a one-day event and over time, it has become part of a movement for year-round safe routes to school.
Join the Anaheim Community and Sycamore Junior High School staff, students, and parents on Wednesday October 2, 2019. The event will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. along the newly constructed Safe Route to School sidewalk on the south side of La Palma Avenue, west of East Street. Help support this event that teaches the community about road safety and the health benefits of walking to school. By participating in International Walk to School Day, you will help reduce traffic congestion around the school and improve air quality by reducing carbon emissions. This event also allows for the community, school, parents, and students to build stronger relationships with one another.
