As the coronavirus situation will undoubtedly affect a number of customers in our community, Anaheim Public Utilities is ready to assist you.  

We want to ensure that our customers have access to core services including clean water and reliable power. Therefore, during these unprecedented times, we have suspended all shutoffs for non-payment as well as non-essential planned outages. 

We'll work with you to get through this unprecedented event… together.

Bill Assistance


If you are experiencing financial hardship due to a loss of employment or other circumstances, give us a call at (714) 765-3300 to help you with programs and resources:
  • Bill deferrals- We are offering payment extensions and will work with you to get you back on track.
  • Income qualified discounts- Customers who meet income-qualified guidelines may be eligible to participate in one or more utility discount programs. 
  • Emergency assistance- The Anaheim Public Utilities Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Emergency Assistance Program provides financial assistance to residential customers facing a temporary financial hardship.
  • Medical allowances- If you or someone who lives in your home uses life-support equipment, you may be eligible to pay a lower rate for some of your electricity.

Payment options that work best for you

Anaheim Public Utilities accepts utility payments:
  • By phone at 714-765-3300 (311 from within city limits)
  • Online at myapu.anaheim.net 
  • In the drop box in front of the Anaheim Public Utilities building:
    - Personal check
    - Money order*
    - Cashier’s check*
    - Cash (Only Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, call 714-765-5058 for prior assistance.)
Be sure to include a copy of your payment stub and seal your envelope.
*Your local post office or grocery store is a convenient and secure way to obtain one of these forms of payment

Your safe and reliable water


Water tests are still being conducted daily to continue to provide you with safe, clean water. Anaheim tap water costs less than a penny per gallon and can save you trips to local retail stores.

Fraud Alert

Scammers have been extremely active during the coronavirus crisis

and are preying on unsuspecting individuals. Remember, we have suspended all disconnections due to non-payment so don't be fooled. If you get a suspicious call, hang up and call 311 (within city limits) or 714-765-3300 (outside of city limits).
