Senior Art Kits
Seniors staying safe at home during the coronavirus crisis can enrich their lives with art kits from Anaheim Public Library and Muckenthaler Cultural Center.
Starting in May Sunkist Branch will have art kits available for curbside pick-up for seniors.
Each kit will contain everything needed to complete an art project, with different kits available every two weeks through the end of the year.
This is one way Anaheim is bringing the senior community together while our libraries and community centers are closed.
Muck teaching artist, Amy Redfeather, will design new activities that will be distributed on a bi-weekly basis beginning in May.
The first project is a painting activity that will encourage meditation.
Seniors can place art kits on hold for curbside pick-up at Sunkist Branch by calling (714) 765-3576.
Library staff will call you when your art kit is available for pick-up.
When you arrive, call Sunkist Branch and your art kit will be safely delivered on a cart to the parking lot.
The West Anaheim Youth Center will also be offering senior art kits for pick-up.
Find pick-up details for the West Anaheim Youth Center here.
Senior Art Kits are provided by the Muckenthaler Cultural Center through funding from the Samueli Foundation’s Community Impact Grant and the Anaheim Community Foundation (ACF).
The city of Anaheim provides an array of services to benefit the well-being of the senior community including meal distribution.
Meal distribution details for seniors can be found here.
We will continue to communicate any further impacts to city services at Anaheim.net/coronavirus.
