ANAHEIM, CALIF (October 31, 2017) – Anaheim homicide detectives have released video from a body dump murder in the hopes of identifying the suspects and vehicle involved.

APD officers were called to the 1600 block of S. Sinclair Street regarding a body near a trash dumpster early on the morning of January 16, 2017. The deceased body of Brian Alfredo Mendez, a 26 year old resident of Anaheim, was discovered near a closed commercial building. Mendez had been shot multiple times.

Video from the surrounding area showed a light colored Chevrolet SUV occupied by at least two suspects dumping Mendez’ body just before midnight on January 15th, 2017. Interviews with Mendez’ friends and family revealed he was associated with the infamous Mexican Mafia prison gang. Detectives are exploring the possibility of Mendez’ gang affiliation being a contributing factor in the murder.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS or www.occrimestoppers.org. A reward up to $1000.00 may be paid for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.
