Voluntary Evacuations Lifted

City News logo

ANAHEIM, Calif. (March 22, 2018) — With the worst of the storm behind us, voluntary evacuations are being lifted at 5 p.m. Thursday in three specific east Anaheim neighborhoods directly next to hillsides burned by October’s Canyon Fire 2.

Areas where the voluntary evacuation has been lifted are:

  • Overlook Terrace from Hidden Canyon Road to the north to just south of Overlook Terrace
  • Blue Sky Road between Weir Canyon Road to the north and Silver Star Way to the south
  • Columbus Drive between Walnut Canyon Reservoir to the west and hillsides to the east, from Canyon Rim Road to the north and just before Hidden Canyon Road to the south

Residents are encouraged to follow news and updates as rain will continue through the evening commute and nighttime hours.

With earlier forecasts calling for significant bursts of rain over an extended period of time, voluntary evacuations were called for Wednesday out of an abundance of caution. As a city, we don't take this action lightly. We appreciate everyone who bared with us and followed along on social media as we closely monitored conditions across the city.
