After Jennifer V., a US Army Veteran, was laid off from her job at Labor Ready she attended an EDD presentation of various resources that were available to help her to find employment. She was intrigued after hearing about the WIOA program at AnaheimJobs. She had been doing general labor work and was ready to find a career. She stated an interest in obtaining her CA Class A Driver License so that she could become a professional driver. She was referred to College of Instrument Technology (CIT) and enrolled in their Truck/Bus Driver training program. She completed her training and was soon hired as a Big Rig Tanker Truck Driver. After getting some experience as a truck driver she felt that she would prefer being a Shuttle Bus Driver. She applied for a local position and was soon hired doing just that. Jennifer is very happy with her new career. She is now earning more money than in the past and knows she has a bright future ahead. She showed her gratitude by speaking at the Anaheim Workforce Development Board Meeting as a guest. She told them how much she benefited from the program at AnaheimJobs. The smile on her face as she spoke of her new career was evidence of her satisfaction and appreciation. Jennifer now has a firm footing on the pathway to success. Congratulations US Army Veteran Jennifer V.!
