September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when the American Library Association and libraries nationwide join together to remind parents, caregivers, and students that signing up for a library card is the first step towards academic achievement and lifelong learning. Studies show children who are read to in the home and who use the library perform better in school and are more likely to continue to use the library as a source of lifetime learning.
“Throughout the school year, our library offers a variety of programs to stimulate an interest in reading and learning,” said Nissa Perez-Montoya, Principal Children’s Librarian. “Story hours expose young children to the joy of reading and encourage school readiness, while older children have access to technology and digital tools such as Brainfuse and the help from library staff to use those resources.”
This year, Carl’s Jr. and 73 of their Orange County restaurant locations are promoting the value of the Anaheim Public Library card and the many ways libraries transform lives and communities through education. We will be kicking off the partnership by providing free meal certificates and coupon booklets to our patrons throughout the month of September! During the first week, patrons can receive one meal certificate per day as a reward for checking out materials. For each NEW patron who signs up for a library card, they will receive one Coupon Booklet worth $55 of savings throughout September!
And that’s not all! Carl’s Jr. will also be added to the Show Your Card & Save participating businesses list, offering 10% discounts to patrons who show their Anaheim Public Library Card in Orange County. See the full list of participating locations here!
