ANAHEIM, Calif. (Feb. 5, 2020) — Anaheim is following the global coronavirus outbreak with no cases reported in our city.
As a major visitor city, we are watching developments in California, the nation and across the globe.
We are in regular contact with the Orange County Health Care Agency, which is working with the Centers for Disease Control, other agencies and healthcare providers to identify and guard against the spread of the virus.
As of early February, there is one known case of coronavirus in Orange County, in the city of Irvine.
There are six known cases in California.
There is no indication of person-to-person spread of the virus in Orange County, with the risk of spread here believed to be low, according to the Health Care Agency.
Beyond general precautions, there are no specific concerns for Anaheim.
There is minimal risk of catching coronavirus in public places, according to the CDC.
If you have not been to China recently, the risk of infection is very low.
The steps to prevent the spread of coronavirus are the same as with the flu or other catchy infections.
