Tracking coronavirus: Food resources

ANAHEIM, Calif. (April 28, 2020) — Anaheim is providing free grab and go meals and food bags for seniors and families in need during the coronavirus crisis.

Anaheim Community Services is partnering with Meals on Wheels OC, Renewable Farms, and Second Harvest Food Bank OC to provide food distribution programs available during the week at various times and locations.

ProgramLocation and Schedule
Senior Meals Program
Frozen food trays are delivered weekly by Meals on Wheels OC to Brookhurst Community Center for distribution to seniors 60 years and older. Each person receives between three and five food trays. The number of meals delivered is dependent upon need and availability of meals.

Brookhurst Community Center 
Thursdays, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Downtown Anaheim Community Center:
Thursdays, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

East Anaheim Community Center:
Tuesdays, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Anaheim Family Food Pantry Program
Families receive food bags that typically make one meal per day for a family of four for three days. Priority is given to seniors and families based on need. 
Brookhurst Community Center:
Every other Monday starting April 15, 2020. Shelf stable food available based on need

Downtown Community Center:
Every other Monday starting April 15, 2020. Shelf stable food available based on need

East Anaheim Community Center:

Every other Monday starting April 15, 2020. Shelf stable food available based on need.

West Anaheim Youth Center:
Every other Wednesday starting April 15, 2020. Shelf stable food available based on need.

Anaheim White House: 887 S. Anaheim Blvd.
Fridays, 4/17, 4/24, 5/1, 5/8; from 3 to 5 p.m.

Second Harvest Food Bank

Food Distribution every Saturday at the Honda Center, 2695 E Katella Ave. from 9 a.m. to noon. Click here for more details.

Saddleback Food Pantry

A drive and park pantry is available at Saddleback Church, 2095 E. Katella Ave. on Fridays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers will bring the food directly to your car, and walk-up options are available. Click here for more details.

Emergency Food Service Assistance

If you are in emergency need of food resources, you can call 211 or visit OCfoodhelp.org. Apply for food benefits over the phone through the Cal Fresh Program at (800) 281-9799 or visit Mybenefitscalwin.org.
