ANAHEIM, CALIF (October 22, 2020) – A 19 year old Anaheim man was arrested for CVC 20001(A)– Felony Hit and Run, CVC 23104(B) – Felony Reckless Driving Causing Great Bodily Injury, and PC 245(a)(1) – Assault with a Deadly Weapon, non-firearm.
Preston James Shea was booked at the Anaheim Detention Facility on the statutorily established bail of $50,000.
At approximately 1:30 a.m. on October 22, 2020, Anaheim Police Officers responded to the Anaheim Plaza, located in 400 block of N. Euclid Street, regarding an injury traffic accident.
When officers arrived, they observed approximately 200 vehicles in the parking lot. Several were driving recklessly and doing “donuts.” Officers located an 18-year-old female victim laying unresponsive in the middle of the parking lot amongst the crowd.
The female was transported to a local hospital for her injuries and as of this writing, is in stable condition and expected to survive.
Through an investigation, officers discovered the female was standing in the parking lot watching several vehicles do “donuts” when she was struck by a vehicle operated by Shea.
Shea provided his contact information to a witness at the scene, but fled the area before officers arrived.
Officers searched for Shea and the suspect vehicle and located both in a residential area in Anaheim at approximately 3:30 a.m. Shea was taken into custody without incident.
