Anaheim hosts third redistricting hearing, community meetings to follow

ANAHEIM, Calif. (Nov. 1, 2021) — Anaheim will host its third public hearing on the redistricting process on Nov. 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chamber at City Hall, 200 S. Anaheim Blvd.


Throughout the month of October, members of the community were asked to submit draft maps showing how they think the district boundaries should be drawn based on the 2020 Census data. Draft maps can be viewed online here.


At the Nov. 2 hearing, the City Council will review updated Census information and discuss the draft maps submitted. Members of the public are welcome to attend the meeting, listen to the discussion and give public comments in person or in writing


Following the public hearing, we'll host a second round of community meetings in person and virtually throughout the community to present and discuss the early proposals for Anaheim's districts. Here's a schedule of upcoming meetings.

Anaheim conducirá su tercera audiencia pública sobre el proceso de redistribución de distritos el 2 de noviembre a las 6:30 p.m. en la Cámara del Concejo Municipal en el Ayuntamiento, 200 S. Anaheim Blvd.

A lo largo del mes de octubre, se pidió a los miembros de la comunidad que presentaran borradores de mapas que mostraran cómo creen que deberían estar los límites de los distritos como resultado de los datos del censo del 2020. Los borradores de mapas se pueden ver en línea aquí.

En la audiencia del 2 de noviembre, el Concejo Municipal revisará la información actualizada del Censo y discutirá los borradores de mapas presentados. Los miembros del público pueden asistir a la reunión, escuchar la discusión y hacer comentarios públicos en persona o por escrito.

Después de la audiencia pública, organizaremos una segunda ronda de reuniones comunitarias en persona y virtualmente en toda la comunidad para presentar y discutir las primeras propuestas para los distritos de Anaheim. Aquí hay un calendario de las próximas reuniones.
