Suspect Arrested Following Officer Involved Shooting

On October 15, 2015, at approximately 1:20 pm, Anaheim Police Officers attempted to arrest a wanted felony probationer at the request of the Orange County Probation Department. The suspect had been convicted of Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a Peace Officer and had violated the terms and conditions of his probation. Officers attempted to contact the suspect near Euclid Street and Ball Road and a vehicle pursuit ensued. Officers pursued the suspect to the intersection of Geneva Street and Valdina Avenue where the pursuit terminated.

At the termination of the pursuit an Officer Involved Shooting occurred. As is customary, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office Bureau of Investigation responded and is the lead investigative agency relating to the Officer Involved Shooting. At the conclusion of the preliminary investigation at the scene, Juan Carlos Linares, a 22 year old resident of Anaheim, was arrested on a probation violation. Linares is being held at the Orange County Jail with no bail.
