Anaheim Police Chief Raul Quezada to Host Forum on Legalization of Marijuana


ANAHEIM, CA – Anaheim Police Chief Raul Quezada invites members of the community and the media to attend a panel discussion on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, regarding the legalization of marijuana in California. This is an important issue which will appear on the California Ballot as Proposition 64 on November 8, 2016. In an effort to ensure the community is informed, Chief Quezada has selected a panel of experts who represent both sides of the issue and includes Nate Bradley the Executive Director of the California Cannabis Industry Association, Chief John Jackson of the Greenwood Village (CO) Police Department, Chief Justin Nordhorn of the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (WA), Attorney Robert Bovett of the Oregon Counties Legal Counsel (OR), Lauren Michaels the Legislative Affairs Manager for the California Police Chiefs’ Association, and Ben Cort an addiction and recovery expert (CO). The panel will be moderated by Chief Ken Corney, President of the California Police Chiefs’ Association.

This educational forum will be presented twice to accommodate various work schedules. The first session will be from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and the second from 6:00pm until 8:00 pm. Both sessions will be held in room 201 at the Anaheim Convention Center. At the conclusion of the forum there will be a question and answer period where the panelists will answer questions posed by those in attendance. This event is offered free of charge. Attendees should enter the Convention Center parking lots through the West Street entrance and follow directions from the parking attendants.

Members of the media who plan to attend are asked to contact the Public Safety PIO in advance for parking and staging instructions.
