ANAHEIM, Calif. (October 20, 2016) – At 10:20 am on October 20th, Anaheim Fire & Rescue invites you to momentarily stop what you are doing and participate in the Great California ShakeOut. This earthquake drill reinforces the importance of “Stop, Drop, Cover and Hold On” and equips residents, employees and business owners to be ready in the event of an earthquake.

You could be in any location when an earthquake occurs. Keep yourself safe by participating in the “Stop, Drop, Cover and Hold On” Drill. The drill only takes a minute and practice helps us turn a thought into an action that comes more naturally when surprised by a sudden event like an earthquake.

Through the involvement and participation in the Great California ShakeOut, we hope to educate and prepare you as community members. Personal preparedness is the best tool you can have to be ready, respond to and recover from an earthquake. The City of Anaheim has established a state of readiness through our City’s comprehensive planning to keep us ready for a response and we encourage you to inspire the need for readiness in your home, community and workplace.

The City of Anaheim is ready to ShakeOut, are you?
