LANDMARK ANAHEIM WHITE HOUSE HEAVILY DAMAGED BY FIRE

ANAHEIM, CA – (FEBRUARY 4, 2017) – The Anaheim White House restaurant, a landmark in Anaheim, suffered extensive structural and content damage during a fire early Saturday morning. At 4:18 am, Anaheim Fire & Rescue received a call of a commercial structure fire at 887 S. Anaheim Blvd. The first responding units reported heavy flames and smoke from the building’s roof. Approximately 40 firefighters from Anaheim Fire & Rescue, Orange City Fire, Garden Grove Fire, and Fullerton Fire attacked the fire aggressively and obtained preliminary knockdown in about 30 minutes.


Fire crews continued working on hot spots throughout the three-story main structure for nearly three hours. Fire Investigators are now on scene attempting to determine the cause and origin of the fire. A damage estimate has not been determined at this time. The restaurant was not occupied at the time of the fire and no injuries have been reported.


Anaheim Blvd is closed to traffic in both directions between Vermont Ave and South St until further notice. A SigAlert is in effect and motorists are advised to use alternate routes. For updates, follow on Twitter at @AnaheimFire and @AnaheimPD.
