ANAHEIM, CA (MARCH 20, 2017) – The Anaheim Police Department is excited to announce the hiring of Kristina Hamm as the Department’s full-time Assistant Public Information Officer.
Kristina Hamm is an innovative communications and marketing professional with over fifteen years of experience. Her areas of expertise include public safety education and outreach, research and evaluation, social marketing, branding, and integrating mobile and social media components within community development programs, particularly those focused on low-income or low English-proficiency consumers.
She is fluent in Spanish, and has dedicated her career to improving public affairs for marginalized and non-English speaking communities locally and abroad. She has built relationships with community agencies across California who serve as ‘bridges’ to many hard-to-reach groups and assist with target population understanding and help build trust and confidence in the communication process. She is skilled in creating culturally competent and linguistically appropriate community engagement tools to assist in sharing key information and relevant themes, messages, and calls-to-action.
Ms. Hamm received her Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Spanish from the University of Montana, her Master’s degree in Public Health Policy and Administration from Portland State University, is also a graduate of the UCLA Anderson School of Management Health Care Executive program.
