Anaheim Resident Arrested for Multiple Murders

ANAHEIM, CALIF (May 18, 2017) – Anaheim PD homicide detectives have arrested a suspect in the murders of two homeless men in October 2016 and January 2017. Marvin Magallanes, a 25 year old resident of Anaheim was arrested early Friday morning May 12th after coming to the front counter of the police department to confess to the unsolved murder of Sabah Alsaad, a 49 year old homeless man. Alsaad was found stabbed to death in the 1200 block of S. Magnolia Ave during the early morning hours of January 25, 2017.

Magallanes has also been linked to the unsolved murder of Onosai Tavita, a 52 year old homeless man. Tavita was found stabbed to death in the 900 block of S. Euclid St during the early morning of October 27, 2016. Magallanes was linked to the two murders by forensic evidence, but additional details will not be released at this time due to the ongoing investigation. Anaheim PD detectives are in communication with detectives from several other jurisdictions in an effort to determine if Magallanes has been involved in other unsolved murders. Magallanes was booked at Orange County Jail on two counts of Special Circumstance murder, where he is being held without bail.
