A Star Will Shine for Msgr. John Sammon on the Anaheim/OC Walk of Stars
ANAHEIM, CA - (May 20, 2008) -
WHAT: The late Monsignor John Sammon will be recognized with the seventh star on the Anaheim/Orange County Walk of Stars. His numerous contributions and devotion as chaplain to Orange County fire and police departments has earned him a star on the Anaheim/Orange County Walk of Stars.

Donna Ryan, his niece, will be present at the ceremony to accept the star on his behalf. Msgr. Sammon worked for the Diocese of Orange as vicar to the bishops and chaplain to fire and police departments and was appointed the first vicar for pastoral and community affairs when it was established in 1976. His selfless attitude brought him to many fire sites as his presence put the firefighters at ease.

Msgr. Sammon’s star will join other notables on the Anaheim/Orange County Walk of Stars such as Walt Disney, Margaret and Carl Karcher, Gene Autry and Henry and Susan Samueli.
