| ANAHEIM, CA - (September 30, 2008) - The City of Anaheim will unveil Anaheim’s 150th Anniversary Celebration commemorative bricks in a ceremony this Saturday, October 4, at 10:30 a.m. at Pearson Park in Anaheim. The 100 engraved bricks were generously donated by Anaheim residents and community leaders who wanted to leave a lasting legacy and tribute to the City’s 150th Anniversary Celebration, which took place in 2007.
“It is wonderful to see so many residents of Anaheim participate, and the bricks are sure to add to the beauty and history of this great City park,” said Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle
Pearson Park was chosen as the location to display the bricks because of its prominence and historic importance to the City. Since its opening in 1927, Pearson Park has been a popular gathering place for residents. With the historic bricks on permanent display, residents and visitors will be able to enjoy the landscape and to reflect on the past 50 years, as well as look forward to the next 50 years. Anaheim’s 150th Anniversary Celebration also honored the year 2007 with a time capsule, which was buried at Pearson Park. The time capsule is anticipated to be opened in 2057 when the City will celebrate its 200th anniversary.
