| ANAHEIM, CA - (December 17, 2008) - Looking to stay active this winter? The Anaheim Community Services Department is offering many recreational classes starting in January, 2009, and registration is now open. The classes include sessions in tiny tots, gymnastics, art, sports, fitness, dance, educational topics, and special interest. Adult basketball and softball league registrations are also open.
The classes will be offered at many of Anaheim’s community centers and recreational facilities. A complete list of classes can be found in the Community Services Activity Guide, available at Anaheim libraries and community centers, at City Hall, or online at www.anaheim.net.
The winter adult basketball leagues will be offered at the East Anaheim Gymnasium and the West Anaheim Youth Center. The cost is $359 per team. Teams must also pay a $28 officials fee prior to the start of each game. League fees include a guaranteed minimum of 10 games plus the top half of teams in each league will qualify for a single elimination playoff tournament.
The winter adult softball leagues will be held at Ross, Maxwell, Modjeska, Pearson, Peralta Canyon, Toyon and Yorba Regional parks. The cost is $365 per team. League fees include a guaranteed minimum of eight games plus the top half of teams in each league will qualify for a single elimination playoff tournament. Umpire fees are included.
Registrations are being accepted online at www.anaheim.net, or they can be phoned in to (714) 765-5191 using a Visa or MasterCard, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Additionally, registrations can be faxed to (714) 765-5223 or mailed to the Community Services Department, 200 S.
