| ANAHEIM, CA - (January 12, 2009) - The City of Anaheim’s Maxwell Park, one of the city’s most popular public parks and recently expanded by 50%, will be dedicated in a ceremony attended by Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle and members of Anaheim’s City Council. The park expansion ceremony will take place on Tuesday, January 13 at 11 a.m. Maxwell Park is located at 2655 W. Orange Ave., Anaheim, CA, 92804.
The newly expanded Maxwell Park features a T-ball field as well as two parking lots, a new restroom, and landscaping which complements the already existing softball fields, exercise course and children’s play area.
Maxwell Park is also home to the Haskett Branch Library and the Anaheim Therapeutic Recreation Center.
Maxwell Park, expanded to 22 acres, was originally developed in 1958 and was approximately 15 acres. The Park was named after former Anaheim school Principal Mattie Lou Maxwell and operates through a joint use agreement with the Magnolia School District.
