Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Anaheim
ANAHEIM, CA - (April 22, 2009) - Come join the fiesta!  The City of Anaheim’s 38th annual Cinco de Mayo Fiesta and Carnival will be taking place from Thursday, April 30 through Sunday, May 3 at La Palma Park.  La Palma Park is located at the corner of Harbor Blvd. and La Palma Ave. in Anaheim.

The carnival will feature food, rides, games, and free live entertainment for the young and young at heart.  More than 80 vendor and food booths will be available for guests to enjoy delicious, authentic Mexican food on Saturday and Sunday.  In addition, the coronation of this year’s Cinco de Mayo queen will take place on Saturday, and a mass conducted in Spanish will be offered on Sunday. 

A complete schedule of events is listed below:

Thursday, April 30            Carnival: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
                                     *Thursday only:  $10 wristbands available for unlimited rides

 Friday, May 1                  Carnival: 5 p.m. to midnight

Saturday, May 2              Carnival: 10 a.m. - midnight
                                      Food booths and vendors: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
                                      Mariachi bands: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
                                      Cinco de Mayo Queen ceremony: 3 p.m. 

Sunday, May 3                Mass in Spanish at Glover Stadium: 9 a.m.
                                     Food booths and vendors: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
                                     Carnival: 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.
                                     Mariachi Bands: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
