Anaheim/OC Job Fair and Expo to Feature More Than 100 Employers and 2,400 Jobs
Free seminars, resume review and parking offered at June 3 Job Fair
ANAHEIM, CA - (June 1, 2009) - Job seekers and employers can “Make the Connection!” as the City of Anaheim hosts the first annual Anaheim/OC Job Fair and Expo, Wednesday, June 3 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., at The Shops at Anaheim GardenWalk (321 W. Katella Ave). Admission and parking are free.

More than 100 employers and 2,400 jobs will be represented at the Anaheim/OC Job Fair and Expo. In addition, free career and life-skills seminars and free resume review will be held throughout the day by experts in their fields. Job seekers can also take advantage of a free Wi-Fi cafe and a computer lab for applying for jobs online. The seminar titles and leaders are as follows –

  • The “How To’s” – How to Obtain and Retain Employment (Disneyland Resort)
  • Networking for Survival – Using Social Networking Sites to Find the Right Job (Breakthrough Networking)
  • Where the Jobs Are – Using Labor Market Information to Forecast Trends (Employment Development Department)
  • The First 90 Days – Making the Right Impression (Biola University, Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership program)
  • Your Calling is Calling – Effectively Using Monster’s Tools to Find Your Calling! (OC Register/monster.com)
  • Resume Shine and Polish (Employment Professionals)

Job seekers can also enjoy discounted food and meals from several of the restaurants at The Shops at Anaheim GardenWalk. Anyone driving to the Anaheim/OC Job Fair and Expo is encouraged to enter The Shops at Anaheim GardenWalk at the Disney Way entrance, and parking is expected to fill quickly that morning. Overflow parking will be made available; please follow the directional signs posted throughout the Resort District.

Job growth is a priority for Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle and the Anaheim City Council members. Mayor Pringle has asked Councilman Harry Sidhu to take the lead on this job fair initiative as a timely and necessary means of providing jobseekers with important employment opportunities. The Anaheim/OC Job Fair and Expo is an additional way the City looks to encourage job placement opportunity and connect local workers with employers during this challenging economic time.
