City of Anaheim to Participate in Green Fair
ANAHEIM, CA - (June 18, 2009) - State Senator Lou Correa in collaboration with Cal State Fullerton Soccer, the City of Anaheim, the California Department of Conservation, and others is hosting a Green Your Life Festival & Titan Soccer Clinic on Saturday, June 20th, 2009 from 10am-1pm at Maxwell Park located at 2650 W. Broadway, in Anaheim.

The Green Your Life Festival will bring together over 30 organizations and green vendors to showcase the newest innovations in green technology and steps we can take to make our households more eco-friendly. In addition, the Cal State Fullerton Men’s Soccer Team will be coaching a free Titan Soccer Clinic to encourage youth ages 6-17 to be more physically active. The first 150 kids to pre-register for the Soccer Clinic will receive a free t-shirt and Adidas giveaway!

“Energy, conservation, recycling, and physical activity is important and easy to do in our everyday life,” said Senator Lou Correa. “I encourage families to join me in learning more about the simple ways we can live greener and healthier lives.”

Participating organizations will offer information on solar power systems, energy-saving lighting solutions, home energy audits, gasoline-free electric cars, healthy foods, weatherization programs, and dozens of other services designed to help residents save money and the environment at the same time. In addition, Haskett Library and YMCA Activate America will be coordinating activities for the entire family, with a Kid Zone area designed to teach youth about the importance of maintaining a physically active body and mind. The YMCA will also provide 2 lucky kids with the opportunity to camp at Catalina Island or the San Bernardino Mountains!

Participants will have the opportunity to win an energy star refrigerator, a high efficiency toilet, energy kits, swimming lessons, DVD players, and much more.
