To further assist in keeping Anaheim residents, businesses and visitors connected and informed of time-sensitive city information, the City introduced Anaheim Alert earlier this year. Anaheim Alert is an opt-in text-based community notification system, which includes information related to unplanned road closures, power outages, event venue traffic congestion, fires, and natural disasters. Users can choose from among the message categories in order to customize their account according to interest, location and need. With Anaheim Alert, messages and updates can immediately be sent to a large audience of users notifying them of important information.
Signing up for Anaheim Alert is simple. The first step is to log on to www.AnaheimAlert.net, and follow the prompts to self-subscribe to e-mail, text messages, or both. In addition, anyone may also sign up for the service by texting the word "register" to 311ANA (311262). Please note that standard text messaging charges apply. The City’s Website, www.anaheim.net, also has a link to Anaheim Alert.
