| ANAHEIM, CA - (November 6, 2009) - The City of Anaheim will honor true heroes – America’s veterans – at a special ceremony on the steps of Anaheim City Hall on Tuesday, Nov. 10 from 10 – 11 a.m. This mid-morning celebration will serve as a tribute to veterans and current military members, and will honor the significance of Veterans Day. The public and the media are invited to attend the patriotic celebration.
Joining Anaheim City Council members at the event will be keynote speaker Col. David W. Coffman, USMC 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit Commanding Officer. Color guards from four local high school Junior ROTC programs will present the colors: Anaheim high schools Magnolia High School, Katella High School and Anaheim High School, as well as Orange High School. In addition, members of the Magnolia High School band will play patriotic music for everyone to enjoy.
Anaheim City Hall is located at 200 S. Anaheim Blvd., Anaheim 92805. Public parking is available behind City Hall, off Broadway Ave.
Veterans Day is celebrated throughout the country on Wednesday, Nov. 11.
