ANAHEIM, CA - (December 4, 2009) - The City of Anaheim’s Winter Youth Basketball and Cheerleading season is quickly approaching, and registration is open for boys and girls ages 4-13 to sign up to enjoy the winter fun.
Registrations are accepted online, or in person. Online Registration is open through December 11 on the City of Anaheim Web site: www.anaheim.net, keyword “ezrecconnect.” Walk-in registration will take place December 10-14, between 3-6 p.m. at the Downtown Community Center, East Anaheim Gymnasium, and Brookhurst Community Center. The price of participation per child is $82, which includes a professional coaching staff, program t-shirt and participation award. The Winter Youth Basketball and Cheerleading season emphasizes participation and instruction to develop skills and techniques. Practices, which begin the week of January 4, are held once a week for one hour at designated parks. Games will be played on Saturdays, beginning January 23 from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the East Anaheim Gymnasium, Downtown Youth Center, and the West Anaheim Youth Center. The season ends March 6. Anaheim Community Services Youth Programs serve more than 5,000 youth each year. Programs include Anaheim Youth Sports, Camp Venture Day Camp, Art in the Park, Artmobile and Fun on Wheels mobile vehicle programs. Recreation staff members are trained in youth development and serve as ideal mentors and supervisors for youth in the community.
