| Renovated Anaheim Central Library to Re-Open on July 6 | ||||||||||||

ANAHEIM, CA - (June 30, 2010) - The Anaheim Central Library, located at 500 W. Broadway, will re-open on to the public on Tuesday July 6 at 11 a.m. To celebrate the re-opening, the Library will host an open house on Saturday, July 10 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. for the community to see the exciting results of the just completed $1.4 million renovation. The open house will showcase the Library’s new spaces including a media room, computer lab, Friends of the Library bookstore, circulation area, ADA restrooms and elevator. Attendees will also have the opportunity to enter a prize raffle and to enjoy refreshments.
During the past six months, Adult and Teen library service was offered at 290 Anaheim Blvd in downtown Anaheim. This facility is now closed and for the next week Library staff will be working to ready the newly renovated Central Library at 500 W. Broadway for its opening on July 6. The recent renovation was funded through a federal Community Block Development Grant, State of California Library grants, and the City of Anaheim Capital Improvement funds; no City of Anaheim general funds were expended.
