Transportation and Event Schedule Reminders for All-Star Week in Anaheim
ANAHEIM, CA - (July 12, 2010) - Major League Baseball’s All-Star Week in Anaheim continues to draw record crowds.  The City of Anaheim would like to remind residents, businesses and guests of anticipated heavy traffic flow near the Anaheim Convention Center, Angel Stadium of Anaheim, and surrounding areas for Monday and Tuesday (July 12-13).

While Anaheim is accustomed to accommodating large gatherings, carpooling and planning for additional vehicle traffic is encouraged.  Please keep in mind many of the events associated with All-Star Week coincide with a normal work week and associated commuting hours.

Monday, July 12:

  • All-Star FanFest at the Anaheim Convention Center, 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • All-Star Complex at Pioneer Park Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony (4565 E. Underhill), 12:30 p.m.
  • All-Star Workout Day/Home Run Derby at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, 5 p.m.
    Parking gates open at 1:30 p.m.; Stadium gates open at 2 p.m.

Tuesday, July 13:

  • All-Star FanFest at the Anaheim Convention Center, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Red Carpet Show presented by Chevy, 11:30 a.m.
    The Red Carpet Show will take place in the Anaheim Resort area.  A parade of MLB All-Star players and managers will travel in Chevy Silverado trucks from Convention Way, and continue north on Harbor Blvd. to the Disneyland Resort entrance.  The parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. and conclude at approximately 1:00 p.m.  Beginning at 10 a.m, road closures are planned for Convention Way, Harbor Blvd., Katella Ave., and surrounding streets.  Complete road closure information can be found at www.anaheim.net.
  • MLB All-Star Game at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, 5 p.m.
    Parking gates open at 1:30 p.m.; Stadium gates open at 2 p.m.

Several local transportation options are available to guests.  The Orange County Transportation Authority is altering its bus route schedule in the Anaheim Resort area to accommodate guests, residents and businesses.  Metrolink is running extra train service in coordination with stadium events.  Anaheim Resort Transit will be available to shuttle guests in and around the Resort area.  In addition, local cab companies can assist guests with their transportation needs.

All-Star Week concludes Tuesday, July 13.
