ANAHEIM, CA - (August 23, 2010) - Nine Anaheim residents currently serving in the military and one fallen soldier will be honored on Tuesday, Aug. 24, at the City’s second Military Banner program ceremony. One of the servicemen to be honored is Army Staff Sergeant Marc Arizmendez, who lost his life while serving his country on July 6 in Afghanistan. Family members representing those honored will be at the ceremony.

The 10 military members to be honored on Aug. 24 will join the 21 others previously honored, and the banners will be displayed on street light poles throughout Anaheim. The City of Anaheim created the Military Banner program in the fall of 2009 as a way for the City to recognize Anaheim residents currently serving in the military.
