ANAHEIM, CA - (January 7, 2011) - With more Anaheim residents turning to business ownership and owners of existing businesses looking for ways to improve their profitability, the City of Anaheim will offer free one-on-one business counseling services to local residents and business owners, through the end of June 2011. The counseling services will be provided by SCORE, the volunteer business organization sponsored by the federal Small Business Administration.
SCORE counselors will meet with clients on the first and third Thursdays of the month at Anaheim City Hall, Planning Department, 200 S. Anaheim Blvd. One-hour appointments will be available in Anaheim from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. To schedule an appointment with a SCORE counselor, please call 714-550-7369. SCORE counselors are retired business owners and senior executives who have experience in all aspects of operating a business. Both start-up and small business owners can benefit from the practical knowledge offered by the counselors and their on-going support and mentoring. The Orange County chapter of SCORE is a model for the national system, three times being named the best SCORE chapter in the United States. SCORE also offers seminars and workshops on topics such as social media networking and Quick Books. A list of upcoming workshops and seminars is available at www.score114.org. In addition to partnering with SCORE, the City of Anaheim has successful partnerships with the California Manufacturing Technology Center (CMTC), the Federal Technology Center, and the Taxpayer Assistance programs of the California Employment Development Department and federal Internal Revenue Service to provide assistance to Anaheim businesses.
