ANAHEIM, CA - (March 14, 2011) - Please note the following information for the Hero Welcome, viewing and visitation, and memorial service for fallen Army Sergeant and Anaheim resident Jason Weaver. Friends, the community and the media are invited to attend to pay their respects to Sgt. Weaver.
Sgt. Weaver, 22, died March 3 in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 504th Military Police Battalion, 42nd Military Police Brigade, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash. "On behalf of the City of Anaheim, our thoughts and prayers are with Jason's family and friends," said Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait. "His sacrifice is immeasurable. Anyone living in our great country enjoys freedom because of those sacrifices, and though we can never repay the debt, we can honor Jason by living lives of appreciation, respect and kindness."
