ANAHEIM, CA - (February 9, 2012) - The City of Anaheim is currently updating the Anaheim Canyon Specific Plan and the community is invited to participate in a workshop and contribute to the updated plan and vision for the Anaheim Canyon business area.
A community workshop will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 15 from 4-6 p.m. at the Kaiser Permanente building at 3460 E. La Palma Ave. At approximately 4:30 p.m. guest speaker Paul Peninger from BAE will offer a presentation about current economic trends and how they may affect the Anaheim Canyon. City staff will be available to answer questions specific to the Anaheim Canyon business area. The Anaheim Canyon business area is home to approximately 33% of Anaheim’s businesses and jobs. The Anaheim Canyon Specific Plan, originally adopted in 1994, will be updated to address the needs of businesses today and for the future, and is in keeping with Mayor Tom Tait’s Regulatory Relief initiative to make Anaheim the most jobs-and-business friendly city in California and to foster more freedom for Anaheim’s business community. For more information on Regulatory Relief please click here. In addition, the Anaheim Canyon business area is also in a designated Enterprise Zone, which provides additional benefits to companies locating to or expanding in the Canyon. The Enterprise Zone program, established by the State of California, serves to stimulate economic growth by providing tax credits for businesses located within the Enterprise Zone boundaries.
