| Anaheim Hosts Citywide Food Drive To Benefit Second Harvest Food Bank | ||||||||||||

ANAHEIM, CA - (March 16, 2012) - The City of Anaheim is pleased to host a citywide food drive, March 19-26, to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank Orange County’s “Independence from Hunger” campaign. Anyone wishing to contribute canned, dry and packaged food items can visit any of the following 12 City facilities during the collection week to donate the items:
Anaheim City Hall – 200 S. Anaheim Blvd. Second Harvest Food Bank Orange County is dedicated to eliminating hunger in Orange County. Since its founding in 1983 by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the Food Bank has provided more than 272 million pounds of donated and surplus food to local charities and partner agencies who in turn distribute the food. More than 9,000 volunteers have worked at the Food Bank to make sure the donated food meets quality and safety standards to ensure recipients receive the nutrition they need. Collection bins at the City facilities listed above will be available during hours each facility is open.
