“Don loved life and was an enthusiastic supporter of all things Anaheim,” said Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait. “My wife Julie and I express our deepest sympathy to Don’s family. May he rest in peace.”

In 1971 Roth was appointed by the mayor and council members to fill a vacant city council seat. In 1976 he continued his service to Anaheim by running for and winning a City Council seat. In 1982 and 1984 Roth was elected as Mayor of Anaheim. He was later elected to the Orange County Board of Supervisors.
