ANAHEIM, CA - (July 17, 2012) -
Bike Nation’s bicycle sharing program is coming to Anaheim and will launch at a community event on July 21. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own bicycles, and Bike Nation bikes will be available for testing.
The community-based event is a prelude to the company’s roll-out of 10 kiosks and 100 specially constructed bicycles to be made available for rental to residents and visitors alike.

Anaheim’s one-year pilot program will be privately funded by Bike Nation, with the Tustin-based company incurring the installation and on-going maintenance expenses for these stations.
This pilot program will run for one year, at no cost to taxpayers, and is planned to operate in the City’s major activity centers, including The Anaheim Resort and Platinum Triangle areas.
Bike Nation bikes are “Made in the USA,” are chainless, and feature active GPS technology and airless tires, which helps to reduce the need for on-road service.
The usage fees for the bicycle share system are incentivized for turnover and trips of less than 30 minutes in duration with a single 24-hour membership priced at $6, with discounts for three-day ($12), weekly ($25), monthly ($35), yearly ($75) and yearly student/senior rentals ($50).
The system is made up of self-service kiosks where individuals can rent and return a bicycle anywhere within a network of stations in Anaheim.
Bike Nation kiosks will be installed at the following locations, with additional kiosks added to meet service needs:
- Harbor and Lincoln
- Anaheim City Hall
- Anaheim Convention Center
- Anaheim Metrolink Station
