|Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait Issues Statement|
ANAHEIM, CA - (July 22, 2012) - Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait issued the following statement during a press conference held by the Anaheim Police Department on Sunday, July 22, 2012.
"As with many people, I viewed coverage of the events that occurred in Anaheim at Anna Drive and La Palma Avenue. I am very, very concerned with what I saw on television last night."
"The purpose of our City government is to protect that lives of our people, but at the same time, it is also to protect the rights of the individual. We must do both, and we must do both well."
"I will ask for a full investigation of this incident by an independent, credible outside entity. Transparency is essential. I have reached out to California Attorney General Kamala Harris for assistance from her Office. The investigation will seek the truth, and whatever the truth is, we will own it."
