ANAHEIM, CA - (November 2, 2012) - The community is invited to attend the next meeting of the Anaheim Citizens Advisory Committee on Elections and Community Involvement (CAC). The meeting will take place on Thursday, Nov. 8 at Katella High School (Royal Crown Theater, 2200 E. Wagner Ave., Anaheim, CA 92806), starting at 7 p.m.
The purpose of the CAC is to promote the full participation of all residents, neighborhoods, community groups and ethnic groups relating to the City’s electoral system. The CAC, scheduled to meet on a monthly basis at locations throughout the City, will report its findings and recommendations directly to the City Council by May 31, 2013, including recommendations on:
Any proposed changes to the City’s governance structure may be placed on the June 2014 ballot to ensure that any organizational changes are effective by the next regular general municipal election in November 2014, if so desired by the electorate of Anaheim. CAC meetings will include a time for public comments, and will be recorded and available for viewing online at www.anaheim.net/CACelections and on the City of Anaheim local access channel, ACTV Channel 3. The 11-member CAC was established on Aug. 10, and applications to serve were accepted through September 11. The members of the City Council each appointed two members to the CAC and the City Manager, or his appointee, serve as the eleventh member in an ex-officio capacity.
