| Anaheim Citizens Advisory Committee On Elections And Community Involvement To Hold Meeting On February 28 Meeting to be held at the Brookhurst Community Center | ||||||||||||

ANAHEIM, CA - (February 27, 2013) - Anaheim’s Citizens Advisory Committee on Elections and Community Involvement (CAC) continues to offer information and presentations to promote the full participation of all residents, neighborhoods, community groups and ethnic groups relating to the City’s electoral system. All are welcome to attend the public meetings.
On Thursday, Feb. 28, the CAC meeting will feature presentations by Elisa Sequeira, California Director of Civic Engagement, NALEO Educational Fund, and by Joan Hake, Vice President Voter Service, League of Women Voters of the Central Orange County Area. The meeting, to be held at the Brookhurst Community Center, will begin at 6:30 p.m. The Brookhurst Community Center is located at 2271 W. Crescent Ave., Anaheim, CA 92801. The CAC will report its findings and recommendations directly to the City Council by May 31, 2013, including recommendations on: Potential changes in the City’s election systems; How to encourage voter registration; How to identify and engage community groups in elections and in local government decision making; Language assistance programs; and other techniques to promote full participation in the electoral process.
