Anaheim Fall Festival and Halloween Parade to Take Place on Saturday, Oct. 26
Temporary road closures Saturday afternoon for the Parade and festivities
ANAHEIM, CA - (October 23, 2013) - Anaheim's traditional Fall Festival and Halloween Parade will take place on Saturday, October 26, and will feature a number of activities for the entire family.  The Fall Festival, a longtime tradition in Anaheim, will take place along Center Street in Downtown Anaheim from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.  Residents and visitors are invited to participate in the free events, including costume contests for humans as well as their doggie friends, trick-or-treating, food, games, crafts, a pumpkin patch, a haunted house, live performances on two stages, and of course, the traditional Anaheim Halloween Parade.

The 89th annual Anaheim Halloween Parade will begin at 6 p.m. and will be lead by the first participant, the headless horseman. This year's Halloween Parade will feature two Grand Marshals.  First up will be Dr. William Kott, a longtime Anaheim resident and war hero. Dr. Kott was awarded two Bronze stars at the Battle of the Bulge, was a member of the Anaheim City Council, and as a busy oral and maxillo-facial surgeon served on a variety of medical staffs in and around Anaheim.

Disney's Minnie Mouse will serve as the second Grand Marshal, and she will be riding in her magnificent carriage.  The Parade will also feature movie cars, marching bands, local organizations, and several light-up floats.

This year the Anaheim Halloween Parade has put a nostalgic spin on the event with approximately a dozen new floats that bring back the traditions of the Parade.  These floats include a 17-foot-tall haunted house, the "flying sasser," and a large float featuring "Andy Anaheim."
