|Anaheim Student's Artwork Wins Spot On Metropolitan Water District's Calendar|
ANAHEIM, CA - (December 12, 2013) - Anaheim second-grader Courtnie Bui at the Fairmont School in Anaheim, a winner in Anaheim Public Utilities’ 23rd Annual Water Conservation Poster Contest, is now being recognized for her artistic ability by the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD).
The 2014 Water is Life calendar will feature 36 student posters, selected from 159 entries that were submitted by many of MWD’s 23 member and retail water agencies. Each year, MWD distributes its Water is Life calendar to member agencies, school principals, teachers and students using MWD’s educational materials, and MWD employees and directors. Approximately 15,000 teachers receive calendars during the year. MWD, Anaheim Public Utilities and other member agencies also distribute calendars to the general public at special events, including conferences, exhibits and water festivals.
Anaheim Public Utilities' 23rd Annual Water Conservation Poster Contest winners were selected from 127 entries from public and private schools in Anaheim. Five posters created by Anaheim's young artists were sent to MWD to compete against posters created by youthful artists representing other MWD member agencies.
