“Showtime!” Features Lifetime Achievement Honoree Art Astor & 9 Others
ANAHEIM, CA - (March 29, 2004) - The glitz and glamour of the annual Anaheim Chamber’s Awards Gala “Showtime!” are epitomized by the lifetime accomplishments of Art Astor, the Lifetime Achievement Honoree.

Astor and nine others will be honored April 19 at The Grove of Anaheim from 6-9:30 p.m. with a black-tie grand gala that salutes individuals and businesses for their contributions to the greater Anaheim area.

Astor, a fixture in the Anaheim area for many years, is the owner of Astor Broadcasting Company and the Astor Collection. As familiar as he is to Anaheim area residents for his broadcasting achievements, Astor’s collection of transportation and communications memorabilia, a collection of over 200 automobiles and hundreds of antique radios, phonographs, televisions and telephones is impressive and priceless.

Also being honored will be members of the Anaheim Police and Fire Departments. Curtis Faulkner and Greg Larson, Jr. will be recognized with the Police Community Service Award while Ben Starke will be honored as the Rookie of the Year. The Firefighter of the Year is Captain Tim O’Hara and Wayne Barringer is the Community Service honoree.

In addition, the Chamber will recognize others who have received Chamber-related awards during the year, including the Sarah Faye Person and Annie Accolade recipients from the Women’s Division, the Ambassador of the Year and Ambassador Spirit Awards and the “Crystal Apple” honorees from the Teachers’ Welcome Breakfast.

Tickets for the event, which is open to the public, are $65 with tables of 10 for $600. Sponsorship opportunities and advertising in the printed program are available (714-758-0222, 205).
