ANAHEIM, CA - (October 17, 2005) - The City of Anaheim's Enterprise Virtual Operations Center, an Internet-based management system designed to help police and fire personnel respond in an emergency, will be featured in a documentary airing on KOCE-TV tonight and November 6. "Inventing the Future" is a half-hour documentary demonstrating EVOC, a virtual control center that provides critical data and communications to first responders and city leaders, ensuring they have the information they need to make more timely decisions in an emergency. EVOC is the first of its kind in the nation and was funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The documentary features City of Anaheim officials describing and demonstrating the system designed by the city's IT provider, EDS, Electronic Data Systems. The show will air on KOCE-TV on the following dates and times: Monday, October 17 at 7 p.m. Monday, October 17 at 11:30 p.m. Sunday, November 6 at 12 p.m. KOCE-TV has more than five million viewers each month and serves as a leading resource for education, culture and local issues in Southern California.
