Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle and Edmonton Mayor Stephen Mandel Place Friendly Playoff Wager
ANAHEIM, CA - (May 23, 2006) - As the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim meet the Edmonton Oilers in the NHL's Western Conference Finals, Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle and Edmonton Mayor Stephen Mandel have agreed to place a friendly wager on the series' outcome.

If Anaheim advances to the Stanley Cup playoffs, Mayor Mandel will officially proclaim his office as the "Official Headquarters" of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim fan club and Mayor Mandel will serve as the Mighty Ducks' official local president. If Edmonton advances, Mayor Pringle will serve as the Southern California president of the Oilers' fan club, with his office in Anaheim serving as "Official Headquarters."

Both mayors also agreed that the losing Mayor will also have his office decorated in the winning team's colors, fly the winning team's flag in front of his City Hall and wear the winning team's jersey to launch the "fan club." Finally, the losing Mayor will also write a letter of support to the winning team on its next playoff series.

"We are looking forward to adding to our Canadian fan base with our new Mighty Ducks headquarters in Edmonton," said Pringle. "Calgary mayor Dave Bronconnier has already joined and we will welcome Mayor Mandel as he proudly dons the Anaheim sweater when the Ducks are crowned Western Conference champions."
