Opportunities to Give This Thanksgiving at Anaheim's Angel Stadium and Honda Center
ANAHEIM, CA - (November 17, 2006) - Share the spirit of giving this holiday season at Angel Stadium of Anaheim and Honda Center. Starting today, both City-owned venues have Thanksgiving events to aid the community.

From today through Sunday, November 19, the Angels groundskeepers will hold their fifth annual Thanksgiving Holiday Canned Food Drive at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Hours for the food drive are 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Fans have the opportunity to step to the plate at Angel Stadium and swing for the fences. Donations of two canned food items will be good for one swing against a pitching machine with a maximum of 20 pitches per participant.

Speed pitch machines will also be set up in the bullpens giving fans the opportunity to test their pitching skills for a donation of one canned food item or $1 per pitch. Additionally, fans will have the opportunity to shag fly balls in the outfield for a donation of $25 for 15 minutes. Bats, balls and helmets will be provided by the Angels. All proceeds will benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County in the fight against hunger during the holiday season. Those who are unable to attend, but would still like to make a monetary donation, may send checks to: Second Harvest Food Bank, 426-A West Almond, Orange, CA 92866 or visit their website at www.feedoc.org.

On Thanksgiving Day, November 23, from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m., the 20th annual We Give Thanks, Inc. Thanksgiving Dinner will take place at Honda Center's parking lot. More 15,000 people are expected to participate in what has become the largest Thanksgiving Day Dinner for the less fortunate in Orange County. This event is completely supported by donations from the private sector. Individual donations and corporate sponsors are welcomed. Current sponsors for this year's event include Honda Center, Anaheim Ducks, La Casa Garcia, Arrowhead Water, Jay's Catering, Photomation and Citibank.
