Anaheim Celebrates Stanley Cup This Saturday: Road Closures Near Honda Center
ANAHEIM, CA - (June 8, 2007) - For the first time in franchise history, the Anaheim Ducks have brought the Stanley Cup home to the City of Anaheim and its fans. Defeating the Ottawa Senators in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals, the Ducks clinched their first ever Stanley Cup Championship. This marks the first time in NHL history that a California team has won the coveted Stanley Cup.

This Saturday, June 9, the Anaheim Ducks and the City of Anaheim will host a free celebration open to the public to congratulate the players and officially welcome the Stanley Cup to Anaheim. Heavy traffic is expected between the hours of 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with the party starting at 6:30 p.m.

From approximately 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Katella Avenue both directions and Douglass Road both directions will be closed.  Additionally, beginning at 8 p.m., the north and southbound exits at Katella and Ball Road on SR-57 will be closed.
