Anaheim Breaks Ground on Affordable Diamond Apartment Homes
ANAHEIM, CA - (April 22, 2008) - Anaheim’s Mayor and City Council attended Jamboree Housing Corporation’s groundbreaking ceremony today to kick off construction of a residential community designed to provide permanent affordable housing and mental health services for previously homeless individuals and their families. The ceremony was held at the future site of Diamond Apartment Homes at 1310 W. Diamond Street.

When completed, Diamond Apartment Homes will provide housing to 25 low-income families. Each residence will be fully furnished and include ENERGY STAR appliances, window and floor coverings and generous storage areas. A 2,500-square-foot resource center is planned for the community that will feature a teaching kitchen, multipurpose room and a computer lab. This facility, combined with the medical and mental health services offered at Diamond Apartment Homes, will assist future residents on their quest to live a better and more productive lifestyle.

In an effort to provide these services to residents, the Anaheim Housing Authority and Redevelopment Agency have partnered with Jamboree Housing Corporation and its resident services division Housing with HEART (Helping Educate, Activate and Respond together), H.O.M.E.S., Inc. (Helping Our Mentally Ill Experience Success) and Telecare Corporation to ensure residents receive supportive and independent living services. Completion of the Diamond Apartment Homes is slated for March 2009. For more information about the Diamond Apartment Homes, call (949) 263-8676 or visit www.jamboreehousing.com.
