We are pleased to announce that we have improved our process for applications requiring review by the Planning Commission and Zoning Administrator effective April 16, 2008.
Improvements include:

Providing applicants with a comprehensive review of their application within thirty days of the submittal of an application.

Advising the applicant of the staff recommendation to the Planning Commission within thirty days of submittal of an application. This includes identifying any major issues which may prevent staff from recommending that the Planning Commission or Zoning Administrator approve the request.

Providing the applicant with a list of conditions of approval early in the process, and scheduling meetings to discuss conditions prior to the Planning Commission Hearing.

Reducing the time required to have an application presented to the Planning Commission or Zoning Administrator for most cases.
Application forms for permit types have also been updated. The process change will not affect permits processed over the counter such as special event, home occupation or recycling permits. For complete information on this new process and to access associated forms, click here.
The Planning Commission is comprised of seven City residents, appointed by the City Council to review both development proposals and policies related to land use within the City . The Commission is responsible for ensuring smart growth, promoting, economic health, and improving the quality of life for all citizens. The Commission meets alternating Mondays. The meetings are open to the public and public comment on city planning matters is encouraged.
