Orange County -City Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Authority

The Orange County Fire Authority and the Cities of Anaheim, Huntington Beach and Santa Ana have entered into a Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) creating the Orange County-City Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Authority (OCCHMERA). The purpose of this Authority is to provide prompt and efficient response to hazardous materials emergencies throughout the Orange County region utilizing hazardous materials response teams from these jurisdictions.

The Authority, formed under the Joint Exercise of Powers Act, is considered a public entity separate and apart from the participating agencies.  It is governed by a Board of Directors, supported by an Advisory Committee and administered by staff of the Hazardous Materials Section of the Anaheim Fire Department.  The OCCHMERA Administrative Office is located at 201 S. Anaheim Blvd., Anaheim, CA 92805, with a phone number of (714) 765-4036, fax number of (714) 765-4608 and e-mail address of occhmeraadmin@anaheim.net.
